Swatch & Review: Dior Vernis Gel Shine Color 661 Bonheur

Product Description: "This advanced nail formula provides glassy, long-wearing shine. A precise brush applies the ideal amount of polish in a single sweep, allowing for a smooth application, vibrant color intensity, and a perfect finish."

Dior released this formula in 2015 and it is truly an amazine formula. It is glossy, smooth and long-wearing. The wider brush makes application so much easier.

Bonheur is a medium cool-toned pink with creme finish. I found the formula to be slightly thicker, but that didn't cause any problems because it self levels on the nails. Like most Dior polishes, it contains subtle shimmer that you can see under direct sunlight. In terms of wear time, Bonheur lasted 5-6 days for me.

Review: Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

Description: "An oil-free foundation that delivers full, natural-looking coverage with one drop, for lightweight, 16-hour wear. "

I bought this in light 4 deauville, which is supposed to be a neutral shade.

Although the word "luminous" is used, the finish is more of a natural matte. It gives just enough glow to be distinguished from a full matte. And don't be fooled by its watery texture, the coverage provided is medium to full.

I find application better with a sponge. But this foundation is still on the drier side and not very forgiving of blemishes and dry patches.

Having oily combination skin, I would say this foundation has pretty good wear time, perhaps not 16 hours but it will last a working day.

The formula is fragrance free and doesn't have SPF.

At a price tag of $70 AUD, I probably won't repurchase because of the dryness issue. It works well on good skin days. Using a moisturizing primer also helps.

Hello 2016! First blog post featuring Cle de Peau beaute correcting cream veil

Hello and welcome to my blog! I have been wanting to record my purchases and share my thoughts on them for a while now, and what better time to do it than the first day of a new year?

The first post features Cle de Peau beaute correcting cream veil, a makeup primer.

Product description:"A rich creamy moisturizing makeup base that instantly smoothes roughness and visibly transforms the texture of skin. Creates a stunning complexion, veiled in radiance, with a look of luminosity emanating from within."

-it has a light beige tint, which brightens the complexion, but may not suit darker skin tones
-reduces appearance of pores
-I have combination oily skin and I find this to be a moisturising primer
-SPF 20 PA++
-it has the signature cle de peau floral scent

I like using it with foundation that is slightly drying. On its own, it can be used as a tinted moisturiser just to brighten the skin.
